Dos eminentes científicos han demostrado por fin que las experiencias próximas a la muerte (ECM) suceden cuando las denominadas q-proteínas o sustancias cuánticas que conforman el alma, abandonan el sistema nervioso y entran en la dimensión sutil del Universo.
De acuerdo con la teoria formulada por Hameroff y Roger Penrose, la conciencia es una especie de programa que está instalado en una computadora cuántica ( el cerebro). El hardware se destruye, pero en ese mismo acto, la información tipificad en el programa sobrevive al hardware y se integra con el Universo, siendo el proceso de percepción, el curso de las experiencias vividas por los que relatan las ECM (Experiencias Cercanas a la Muerte).
El Dr. Stuart Hameroff, Profesor Emérito en el Departamento de anestesiología y psicología y director del Centro de Estudios de la conciencia de la Universidad de Arizona, acaba de avanzar esta interesante teoría.
La Teoría cuántica de la conciencia ha sido desarrollada junto al físico Roger Penrose y sostiene que nuestra conciencia está ubicada en los denominados microtúbulos, presentes en nuestras neuronas.
El argumento rector de la teoría de Penrose y Hameroff es que nuestras experiencias de conciencia, son el resultado de los efectos cuánticos de la gravedad en esos microtúbulos, efectos que desaparecen con la muerte física, provocando la liberación de esas experiencias como si fueran paquetes de datos que acrecen de nuevo al Universo. (A este proceso le denominan Reducción Objetiva Orquestada o Orc-OR).
De hecho sostienen que nuestras almas son mucho más que la interacción de las neuronas en el cerebro, pero que estos efectos de interacción están integrados en los receptores AMPA y que de hecho, la fabricación de neuronas o su inhibición está claramente relacionada con los procesos de Stress. A Mayor Stress, mayor destrucción neuronal y viceversa. La clave de estos eventos permite entrever, que la información tipificada en Orc-OR, estaría presente desde el inicio de los tiempos, lo que implicaría que de alguna manera esa información cuántica codificada en las neuronas, estaría presente en nuestro ADN.
Ciertamente existen analogías con las millones de conexiones inalámbricas existentes en las neuronas que conforman un microuniverso. De hecho, el reciente hallazgo de la proteína DLK responsable de la regeneración de las neuronas, refuerza la teoría de Hameroff.
Bajo estos planteamientos el Dr. Hameroff sostiene que en las ECM (Experiencias Próximas a la Muerte), los microtúbulos pierden su estado cuántico, liberando la información contenida en ellos, de manera que la conciencia abandona el cuerpo y regresa al cosmos de donde provino.
Aquellos que regresan, recuerdan la experiencia como un punto de salida y entrada en una especie de agujero de gusano, o túnel en el que aparece una luz al final. En ese viaje al cosmos, regresan a su sistema nervioso, cuando se reaviva la actividad cerebral.
en todos los procesos se aprecia que la percepción del tiempo es relativa al observador externo, pero no al que vive la experiencia que deja de ser consciente del concepto temporal.
Tal y como el Dr. Hameroff ha expuesto en diversos papers, la experiencia comienz en el momento en el que el corazón deja de latir y la sangre para su flujo de bombeo. Es en ese punto cuando los microtúbulos pierden su estado cuántico y liberan la información.
De hecho, lo que sucede es que la información cuántica contenida se integra con el Universo. en palabras textuales de Hameroff:
‘The quantum information within the microtubules is not destroyed, it can’t be destroyed, it just distributes and dissipates to the universe at large.‘If the patient is resuscitated, revived, this quantum information can go back into the microtubules and the patient says «I had a near death experience».’
Hameroff añade que podría suponerse que sería posible que en el caso de aquellos pacientes que ya no regresan podría decirse que su información (alma) se consolida con el cosmos y perdura eternamente:
‘If they’re not revived, and the patient dies, it’s possible that this quantum information can exist outside the body, perhaps indefinitely, as a soul.’
La tería Orch-Or ha sido objeto de un duro criticismo por parte de los escépticos, pero al mismo tiempo esta controversia abre puertas a la dimensión de la medición cualitativa de de la comunidad científica y no tanto a la dimensión meramente mecanicista o cuantitativa. El mismo Hameroff es consciente de los retos que esperan al pensamiento científico del siglo XXI.
Seguidamente, presentamos los estudios de Hameroff y Penrose, así como diversas referencias en el marco de la nueva teoría de Orch-Or.
Recordemos que apenas hace ahora dos años, Dieter Broers, Ernst y López-Guerrero, Rafael , fueron duramente criticados por formular exactamente las mismas conclusiones a las que hoy llegan Hameroff y Penrose. (Recent Paper on sept-oct 2012). De hecho, esas mismas conclusiones han sido reforzadas en la reciente publicación de Hameroff :

Creo que no hace falta que se pare el corazón … hay proyecciones astrales que no hace falta que se pare el corazón, al menos que no se refiera a otra dimensión diferente y haya varios astrales, dependiendo de la vibración de cada uno.
