¿Cuáles son los siete futuros escenarios para la humanidad según la Ciencia Ficción.?

Sabemos que la ciencia ficción, siempre inspiró escenarios posibles en circunstancias probables que en ocasiones se cumplieron y se superaron. Todos conocemos  el caso del escritor Julio Verne, un visionario que en su época relató eventos que sucedieron cien años después de lo que en su época fueron novelas. El helicóptero, el submarino, la cápsula espacial, el viaje al centro de la Tierra, etc…

Volvamos ahora a tratar sobre escenarios contemporaneos de nuestra época, y entendamos que la complejidad de los acontecimientos hace activar la imaginación de muchos escritores que van más allá de lo previsible, para adentrarse en cuestiones que incluso podrían transcender a las reglas de la física.

No olvidemos que en este artículo, vamos a tratar casos de ficción procedentes de escritores prolíficos contemporáneos. Todos ellos tienen en común, escenarios futuristas que tratan de comprender las realidades que ellos conciben como plausibles, sin embargo, no olvidemos que cuando de ciencia ficción se trata, en realidad es el conocimiento intrínseco del escritor, el que se proyecta más allá de la ficción del escenario posible.

No sabemos hasta que punto, la lógica de las cosas puede hacer devenir acontecimientos futuros como los relatados en el presente, pero si una mínima parte de lo previsto por estos autores se cumpliera, tendríamos siete escenarios que presentamos a continuación.

Cada uno de ellos recoge una serie de lugares comunes y otra serie de eventos específicos de diversa consideración, lo que incrementa la realidad y plausibilidad de los escenarios dibujados, como un hipotético «futuro» en el que introspección, física y fantasía convergen en caminos que sólo el autor puede dibujar, y alcanza a comprender la existencia, y no sólo el destino inmediato de nuestra civilización.

Sólo el tiempo nos dirá cual de estos escenarios, o qué mezcla de ellos se desarrolla en las complejas e intrincadas líneas temporales.

Por el momento, sólo ciencia ficción. Pero no por ello menos interesante.

Aunque la mayoría de los escenarios procedentes de la ciencia ficción, presentan visiones pesimistas de nuestro futuro, (desastres medioambientales, conflictos bélicos, etc..) vamos a centrarnos sólo en aquellos que presentan una visión positiva de nuestro futuro, desde una perspectiva optimista, basada en un cambio de conciencia de la humanidad. Dejamos para la industria cinematográfica el desarrollo de los escenarios futuristas bélicos y en general pesimistas, ya que consideramos que no encajan en nuestra línea de publicación. A ellos remitimos para los que resuenen con ese pesimismo. Así que aquí afrontaremos los escenarios positivos posibles:

Antes de comenzar la exposición, comentaremos que los escenarios que expondremos no son excluyentes entre si, sino complementarios y en gran medida, todo depende de nuestras decisiones, nuestra capacidad de adaptación al entorno y nuestra voluntad activa de cambio en un contexto que implica muchas realidades supersimétricas alternativas pero no incompatibles.

1. El escenario del mantenimiento del  «Status quo».

Para algunos autores, hemos llegado a la cima de nuestro avance. Algunos como Sir Martin Rees, Nick Bostrom y Stephen Hawking entre otros consideran que simplemente perfeccionaremos procesos que nos ayudarán a mejorar aspectos puntuales de nuestra existencia, pero sin que ello implique saltos extremos de tecnología u otros aspectos de avance, ya que de hacerlo, el reto al que nos enfrentaríamos es nuestra propia autodestrucción, o la destrucción de nuestra especie por otra raza superior procedente de civilizaciones tecnológicamente más avanzadas que nosotros. En ambos casos nuestro reto sería la supervivencia como especie y el volver a comenzar como subespecie de nuevo en la edad de piedra, repitiendo mitos, avances y limitaciones propias de nuestra actual concepción como civilización. Por así decirlo, cometeríamos una y otra vez los mismos errores hasta el momento de nuestra extinción como especie, de manera que nunca llegaríamos a ser una civilización que poblara la Galaxia y apenas conocedora de nuestro sistema Solar.

En concreto, fue el científico y político Francis Fukuyama quién escribió en 1992 que el actual grado de desarrollo de nuestra civilización sería el final de nuestra historia con el advenimiento del llamado NWO (New World Order) o Nuevo Orden Mundial, el cuál traería un período de falsa paz orientada hacia la auto destrucción.

En otra línea de eventos dentro de esta clasificación de escenarios posibles, tendríamos que mencionar, sin duda a Bill Joy, cofundador de la empresa Sun Microsystems, que igualmente habla de un futuro en el que la cibernética, la nanotecnología y la robótica suplirán las capacidades inteligentes del ser humano, hasta el punto de su final desplazamiento extintivo. Esta dejadez existencial provocada por la tecnología, relegará al ser humano a un estadio meramente contemplativo de la realidad, antes de su desaparición. Para evitar este escenario, el ser humano debería reservarse una serie de tareas necesarias para su supervivencia como especie en el que los nanodesarrollos y ciberdesarrollos no puedan intervenir. Dicho de otra forma. El reto es no excederse en la delegación de los desarrollos tecnológicos que realizamos, no sea que prescindan en algún momento de nuestra existencia.

2. Escenario segundo: Una Tierra verde y brillante en un contexto de integración con la naturaleza.

Lejos de entender un futuro que esquilme el planeta y los recursos, el ser humano ha comprendido que también puede utilizar la ciencia y la tecnología para buscar un entorno verde y purificador de la naturaleza, respetando su entorno e integrándose en él. En este caso, el escenario futuro es un paraíso en el que ciencia, tecnología y naturaleza forman parte de un todo.  El ser humano ha aprendido a respetar e integrarse en ese entorno, generando bienestar medioambiental y respeto de estructuras naturales integradas en su evolución tecnológica. Ambas cosas avanzan en la misma dirección: a mayor avance tecnológico mayor generación de bienestar en y con  la naturaleza. Por tanto existiría una conexión del ser humano con su entorno. La Tierra y el Ser humano se reconcilian en una sinergia que implicaría una simbiosis casi perfecta.

Para lograr este objetivo, sería imprescindible que el ser humano desarrolle las energías libres, y modelos que erradicaran la pobreza, expresando una voluntad conjunta de llegar a decisiones armónicas para gestionar la abundancia y marcos de referencia integrales en todos los campos del conocimiento humano. Este es el modelo presentado por Bruce Sterling (Entre muchos otros). En dicho modelo, se presenta una conexión entre la naturaleza y el ser humano sin renunciar a los avances, pero con una tecnología extensible a toda la población del planeta. En este modelo armónico el ser humano puede incluso reingenierizarse y mejorarse genéticamente, e incluso luchar con las amenazas externas del espacio desviando órbitas de asteroides e incluso canalizando las tormentas solares y terraformar planetas áridos para extender su civilización de forma integrada por el Sistema solar.

3. Escenario Tercero : Cuidados por robots que garanticen nuestra armonía y nuestro bienestar.

Objetivamente, pensamos que la proliferación de esos robots y maquinarias tal y como ya expusimos en el escenario primero, continuarán sofisticándose hasta el punto de generar nuestra propia autodestrucción en un evento destructivo entre seres humanos o máquinas, etc…Sin embargo, no es necesariamente así. También somos capaces de desarrollar máquinas que sólo sean capaces de atender nuestras necesidades y cuidados básicos y que únicamente sean benévolas con nosotros, sin que tengan capacidad de causarnos agresión, sino únicamente bienestar.

De hecho cabe la posibilidad de que seamos capaces incluso de diseñar máquinas de Inteligencia Artificial que garanticen nuestra sociedad armónica, e incluso eviten los conflictos. Richard Brautigan o Asimov, son claros exponentes de esta hipótesis futurista en la que el desenlace es una interacción simbiótica entre el ser humano y la Inteligencia Artificial.

4. Escenario cuarto: llegar hasta los confines del Universo…

Como especie no hay nada que nos motive más que descubrir, aprender y salir de nuestras propias fronteras hacia otras fronteras, colonizar otros planetas, descubrir otros sistemas solares y habitarlos, y profundizar en los sistemas, galaxias y el universo mismo. Vinculamos esa misma esencia a nuestra existencia y a nuestra propia capacidad de superación. Por lógico que nos pueda parecer, también nos parece lejano, sin embargo, implica serios cambios en nuestra estructura biológica, social, filosófica y de valores. Hay que cambiar aspectos como la integración con otros entornos, culturas y el respeto a nuestra propia especie. Como resultado avances tecnológicos basados en viajes, implicarán excedentes de imaginación basados en el ingenio de generaciones de visionarios y científicos que den forma a nuevas formulaciones que superen los actuales principios de la física, y demostraciones extraordinarias de avance, de generación en generación, aunque también es posible el contacto con una civilización mucho más avanzada que nosotros que nos enseñe a modificar muchos de los viejos paradigmas que nuestra civilización arrastra, todo ello combinado con un despertar de conciencia o un evento extintivo de grandes proporciones en el que las generaciones supervivientes, cambien muchos de los paradigmas sobre los que nuestra sociedad actual se construye. Von Newman, Asimov, George Lucas, son solo algunos ejemplos de visionarios que apuestan por este futuro en el que la humanidad se expandirá por el universo.

5. Escenario quinto: Nuestra expansión en el Espacio Interior, no en el espacio exterior. La generación de Matrix computacional.

De forma alternativa a la colonización del espacio, también podemos volvernos modelos super-computacionales capaces de atravesar las dimensiones interiores de las capas de la Matrix. Podemos generar subcapas o matrices internas de forma infinita hasta llegar a interiorizar nuestros pensamientos y convertirlos en realidades.  Incluso podemos generar las denominadas esferas Dyson para crear universos o sistemas solares artificiales tal y como imagina Seth Lloyd, emulando operaciones a mies de millones de bits por segundo que permitan general realidades computerizadas que simulen aspectos exactos de la realidad, llegando incluso a poder replicarnos a nosotros mismos, como por ejemplo sugiere Robert Bradbury.

Incluso podríamos generar un sistema computerizado desde nuestro propio Sistema nervioso Central, capaz de generar con el pensamiento millones de paquetes de datos materializando estructuras interconectadas en realidades paralelas.

6. Escenario sexto: La utopía materialista del no sufrimiento.

Para los autores más materialistas, la cuestión se dirime en la inexistencia de vida tras la vida, así que si se suprimieran las religiones se suprimiría el sufrimiento,al dejar de proyectar un estado ideal de existencia tras la vida. Según estos autores, un futuro hipotético probable, sería concentrar los avances tecnológicos y científicos existentes en evitar los pensamientos y emociones negativas, y mantener al ser humano en una situación de limbo virtual, que le permita disfrutar ilimitadamente de la materia en un contexto Universal de Caos con el que simplemente no interactúa. (Una especie de cielo virtual en la Tierra). Para ello todo el conocimiento científico y tecnológico se pondría al servicio de la satisfacción de esa proyección virtual.

Esta sería la visión del filósofo británico David Pearce, que lo denomina como el Hedonismo Imperativo o el Imperativo Hedonista, e implica la eliminación de todo el sufrimiento, el dolor y las emociones negativas, para generar un estado de continuo placer, maximizando las sensaciones psicológicas y físicas, desde la percepción inducida. Ello supone una inducción externa de estas percepciones, utilizando toda la ciencia y tecnología del materialismo, para conseguir este efecto anestesia en un contexto hostil. Evidentemente las visiones del Imperativo Hedonista son ultra-materialistas, ya que niegan la espiritualidad del ser humano y por tanto, se centran en el materialismo más empirista o ultra-materialismo.

7.El escenario séptimo: La transcendencia Cosmológica.

Las tendencias más avanzadas de la Ciencia convergen con los escenarios de la Conciencia reconciliando al ser humano con su energía interior y su espiritualidad. En este escenario, el ser humano, llega a tomar consciencia en vida de su transcendencia como ser, y concilia su espíritu con las manifestaciones externas (materia). Cuando el conocimiento se vuelve integral dentro del Ser, este descubre que desde su dimensión de la conciencia puede comprender e integrarse con las leyes cosmológicas y de la física cuántica de forma introspectiva. En este escenario, el ser humano evoluciona a un estado transcendente en el que la energía puede modificar la materia, y de esa forma puede cambiar todos los parámetros del espacio-tiempo, llegando a transcender los estados de la materia y a establecer comunicación con otras entidades del cosmos. Tal es el caso de la visión de  John Smart, que integra la inteligencia en la conciencia y no en la simple visión del cerebro.

La mente está integrada con la conciencia y desde la mente se modifica la materia. A medida que el ser humano genera capacidades que lleva implícitas en su ADN, avanza requiriendo menos materia, menos desgaste de energía y mayor eficiencia en la gestión de su energía. Por así decirlo, cada vez se vuelve más espiritual dentro del contexto material al que llega a transcender. De esa forma desarrolla tecnologías basadas en la conciencia que le permiten suplir las tecnologías materiales.

Otra modalidad de este escenario es el propuesto por Robert Lanza y James Gardner: En esta teoría parten de la idea del biocentrismo, basada en la lógica de un universo que pasa de la inmadurez a la madurez de conciencia. Todo evoluciona hasta llegar a la máxima inteligencia, que implica la conexión total del ser biológico con el Universo Inteligente. Por así decirlo todas las inteligencias del cosmos están en continua evolución al igual que un organismo vivo, las células de una parte no se comunican con las células de otra parte pero forman un sistema que en un momento dado permite definir al organismo viviente.  En esta evolución, hay un punto en el que el organismo viviente toma conciencia de sí mismo, como un conjunto completo de partes integradas en un todo, y cada célula de ese organismo vivo integra toda la información necesaria para el reconocimiento de ese ser. En ese estado se producen las reglas del entrelazamiento cuántico, y la lógica avanzada de los estados de conciencia, permiten a unos seres la comunicación inteligente con otros, al igual que las células cumplen su función y actúan de forma especializada pero eficiente. En un punto la información se transacciona a tal velocidad que la comunicación inteligente e convierte en el código de paquetes de datos que genera el ADN del Universo mismo, como si el Universo mismo, pasar de ser un bebé a un ser adulto y consciente, y fuera ganando en conciencia y sabiduría.

Este es el escenario futurista más avanzado de todos los analizados, ya que combina los estados de transcendencia cuántica con la metafísica, la lógica biológica y la física cuántica. A medida que las entidades biológicas ganan en conciencia, las células más jóvenes emergen y sustituyen los lugares, reemplazan a los tejidos más ancianos que ceden su conocimiento como si fuera un ADN universal. De esta forma en el universo, las civilizaciones más avanzadas se posicionan en los centros geográficos más especializados y complejos y más próximos a los eventos cuánticos importantes, mientras que las civilizaciones bebé, se ubican más en la periferia o en brazos periféricos del sistema. Algo parecido a lo que sucede en un organismo vivo: Las células más especializadas y complejas (las neuronas) se ubican en redes neuronales y gestionan el Sistema Nervioso, mientras que otras más simples forman los tejidos como el epitelial, etc…Así, a medida que una civilización cobra consciencia e inteligencia va liberando ese conocimiento y haciéndolo propio, y heredando ese ADN por especialización hasta llegar a convertirse en la más avanzada y tomar conciencia integral de todo el sistema.
